Yukon Blonde at Lee’s Palace Oct 14th

I last saw Yukon Blonde down at the Horseshoe Tavern for a Nevado Records love fest and after looking at my pix from then, I wanted to try a few different things, and I liked their show.
Opener’s included Sandman Viper Command, followed by The Great Bloomers. Two solid bands, we’ll probably see more of them in the future. But this night was for Yukon Blonde. In the early stages of an epic tour , about 60 dates in all, promoting their latest release, an EP titled Fire//Water, they didn’t hold back right from the get-go.
Lot’s of antic’s and guest appearances from members of the Wooden Sky, the Paint Movement and the Great Bloomers gave this show a house party vibe, complete with paper confetti, glo-sticks and a birthday cake!

Special thanks to Lee’s Palace for the free pass to this show, I was gonna go anyway.

My full gallery from the show can be found on the gallery page. One of Yukon Blonde and one of the opening acts.

Enjoy!

This picture of the Super Reverb amps gave a hint for what was to come later, a cover of Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”.

The Paint Movement CD Release Sept 9th @ the Horseshoe Tavern

The Paint Movement, back from a east coast stint, are performing a CD Release show at the Legendary Horseshoe Tavern on Friday Sept 9th featuring their self titled debut on Nevado Records . The CD and itunes DD are available now from www.NevadoRecords.com.

I was lucky to catch them opening for fellow Nevado recording artists Yukon Blonde a few months back and was impressed with their live performance, ‘wall of sound’ type sound and enthusiasm.

The Paint Movement hit the stage @ midnight, opening acts are The Elwins @ 9:45pm, Still Life Still @ 10:45pm. Tickets are $8.00 at the door (as far as I can find out anyway) or from the front bar.
