‘A Song For Sab’ Benefit Fundraiser for Peter Sabourin

I had the recent pleasure to attend a great benefit concert at Lake Affect in Port Credit on the Canada Day long weekend. ‘A Song For Sab’, a benefit fundraiser in aid of Peter ‘Sab’ Sabourin’s fight against lymphoma cancer.

Jerome Godboo

Hosted by Chuck Jackson & Mike Bullard, we where put as subjects to an amazing performance of a great smorgasbord of musicians. The Meteors along with the Sab Family house band where the backbeat to Jerome Godboo, Rik Emmett, Dave Rotundo, Jaye Baxter, Earl Johnson, Frank Cosentino plus Joe Mavety, Neal Chapman and quite a few of whom I didn’t know their names. But what a blast!

Preview: Zeus @ Lee’s Palace Nov 24th

Zeus are on tour, bringing their unique sound to Lee’s Palace Nov 24th. They will hopefully be playing a good selection of tunes from their soon to be released (early 2012) sophomore as yet untitled album. We had a small tease of this with the single “Are You Gonna’ Waste My Time” released back in October on the Arts & Crafts label.

Returning as a supporting act, The Skeletones Four, who also opened the show the last time Zeus performed in Toronto at The Horseshoe Tavern, will get things going with their psych-prog-pop offerings.

Here is a small taste from the show at the Horseshoe last December.
