Toronto Jazz Festival Pix from Day 3

Monday at the Jazz Fest, June 24th had on the schedule Pino Daniele with Rita Chiarelli opening at the Main Stage at Nathan Philips Square. An enthusiastic crowd on hand for this show.

After this show, I headed over to the Horseshoe Tavern to see Dr Lonnie Smith. This was a treat! I probably would never have heard of this guy, if it wasn’t for this years festival. Exceptional!

Toronto Jazz 2013, Day 2

June 22nd, day 2 of the Toronto Jazz festival has come and gone. I managed a couple trips to Nathan Philps Square this day, first to see Lighthouse for a great show, punctuated by a heavy downpour during their set. And later in the evening to see Mavis Staples with her band, followed by Dr John & The Nite Trippers. Two amazing performers, they did not dissappoint.

Afterwards I ended up walking all the way along Queen to the Ronnie Hayward After Hours Jazz Jam at Dominion. Below are a few pix from these shows.
