The 2013 edition of the Tim Horton’s sponsored Southside Shuffle has come and gone. I managed to get there on the last day of the weekend long event, and took in a few of the bands performing in Memorial Park, Port Credit. Four separate stages where set up, with bands timed so as to not interfere too much with their neighbors.

Midway through the jazz festival and one of the bands I’ve been waiting to see again is on the Main Stage at Nathan Philips Square, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue! An amazing band with an amazing frontman! Truly entertaining and worth putting on your calender the next time they come around if you missed it.
Opening things up was local funksters Planet Earth. They got the night rolling with their blend of funk,R&B & soul. They have been a local favorite playing numerous shows in and around town since 1998. I checked a web link for them to find more shows but it was all in Japanese, so something is amiss there, but they have a Facebook page to check out.
